He described the armies as two exhausted swimmers clinging to each other. Their opponent, Macdonwald, came with foot soldiers and horsemen from Ireland and the Hebrides. Even though it seemed as if Macdonwald would have won, Macbeth turned the tables and the victory was in his hands. The Captain continued to praise Macbeth and Banquo on being strong captains.
